The 2011 Haitian Art Society Conference was in New Orleans 
  October 28 - November 1, 2011
       As usual for an HAS Conference, it included panel discussions, visits to exhibits, and viewing of private collections -- Visit to Sallie Ann Glassman’s Botanica; Trip to a private home collection in Mandeville with cocktails and appetizers and kreole music around the pool; Dinner on the waterfront; and the timing coincides with some really intriguing festivals: Anba Dlo:  Halloween Festival, and Annual VooDoo Fest: with lectures, ceremony, food, Mama Lola present. Held at Voo Doo Authentica Gallery, Fete Guede (Day of the Dead) celebration w/ mambo, Sallie Ann Glassman. Food & procession to the cemetary to feed the dead.                 The HAS conference opened with a garden party 6:00-11:00pm for the Hyppolite exhibition at the Museum of Americas/Organization of American States in the evening. Although this event is ticketed at $75 ($100 after June 1) -- HAS conference participants may attend for $50 with advance registration.

 The Waterloo Center for the Arts was pleased to host the 2008 Haitian Art Conference, September 26-28. which featured exhibitions, performances, a symposium, catered dinner and bus tour to visit other area collections. Holding the largest public collection of Haitian art in the country (over 800 pieces), the Waterloo Center for the Arts was also marking its 30th anniversary of collecting, presenting and interpreting Haitian art.

 HAS Members attended annual conferences in Washington, D.C. in July 2003, in New York city in September 2004, and in Montreal in September 2005.  Conferences consist of symposiums, private tours of homes & museums, social gatherings & sometimes fundraisers.  There have also been regional HAS gatherings in San Francisco and Washington.

 Over 100 Haitian Art enthusiasts including Haitian Ambassador The Honorable Raymond Joseph, Haitian Art Society President Larry Kent and other supporters, gathered at the Haitian Embassy in Washington D.C. on November 19, 2005 to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Centre D'Art in Port-Au-Prince. Also attending were Georges Remponeau, a co-founder of the Centre D'Art, and his daughters Elsie and Rachel. Mr Remponeau received a special commendation for his efforts in establishing the historic center. The event was sponsored by the President of the Haitian Art Society Washington Metropolitan Chapter Mr Fritz Racine and his wife Gladys .
